Set up Heedy for your loved one and connect your family in just a few simple steps.

STEP 1

Prepare the tablet

Start with the tablet your loved one will use for Heedy. Make sure it’s connected, charged and ready to go before you begin.

  • Make sure the tablet is connected to the internet
  • Connect the charger
  • Place the tablet in a stable stand
  • Make sure the camera and speakers aren't covered

STEP 2

Get Heedy

Start by installing Heedy on your phone and creating your profile.

    Download the Heedy app

  2. 2. Open Heedy and create your profile
  3. 3. Follow the instructions to create your profile

STEP 3

Set up your loved one's tablet

Now install the same Heedy app on the tablet your loved one will use.

    Download Heedy on the tablet
    Download on the App Store Get it on Google Play

    Open Heedy and start the setup for your loved one
  3. 3
    Follow the instructions until a connection code appears on the tablet

STEP 4

Connect & personalize

Use the code on the tablet to connect it to your Heedy account, then complete the setup for your loved one.

  1. Connect the tablet

    On your phone, enter the connection code shown on the tablet.

  2. Add your loved one

    Enter your loved one's name and complete their profile.

  3. Choose the settings

    Follow the instructions in Heedy and choose the settings that work best for your loved one.

Connected! Your loved one's Heedy is now ready to test.

STEP 5

Make sure everything works

Before inviting the rest of the family, take a minute to test Heedy together.

Allow Heedy access

If asked, allow Heedy to use the features it needs on your devices.

  • Camera
  • Microphone
  • Notifications

Try it together

  1. Make a video call

    Make a video call from your phone to the tablet, then from the tablet back to your phone. Check that you can see and hear each other.

  2. Send a message

    Send a short message and make sure it appears on the tablet.

  3. Send a photo

    Send a favorite photo and check that it displays correctly.

Everything working? Your Heedy setup is complete.

STEP 6

Invite your family

Now that Heedy is up and running, invite the people you want to be part of your family group.

  1. Send an invitation

    Open your family group in Heedy and share the secret family group code with the person you want to invite.

  2. They download Heedy

    They install the Heedy app, create their profile and enter your family group code.

  3. Approve their request

    As the family admin, approve their request before they can access the family group.

  4. Start connecting

    Once approved, they can start keeping in touch with your loved one through Heedy.
