ABOUT HEEDY

Heedy started with our own families.

Before Heedy was a product, it was a problem Markus and Pierre had experienced personally. People they loved were finding everyday technology increasingly difficult to use — and staying in touch was becoming harder because of it.

We believed there had to be a simpler way.

THE BEGINNING

When technology started getting in the way of family.

Markus lived in Sweden while his mother, Kaarina, lived in Finland. Staying connected across the distance mattered.

After Kaarina was diagnosed with dementia, using a smartphone touchscreen gradually became more difficult. Later, even conventional phones became difficult for her to manage.

Staying in touch was becoming harder — not because the family wanted less contact, but because the technology was becoming a barrier.

Why doesn’t something for this exist?

Something where the family could take care of the technology, while the person they loved could simply stay connected.

Markus wasn’t alone in experiencing the problem. Pierre had seen similar needs within his own family.

Together, Markus and Pierre founded Heedy to build a simpler way.

The family handles the technology. Their loved one gets the simple experience.

FROM AN IDEA TO HEEDY

One simple connection brought a whole family closer.

When Kaarina began using Heedy, it wasn’t only a new way for Markus to reach his mother.

Her sisters and brothers could stay in touch. Her children could stay in touch. Her grandchildren could stay in touch.

Instead of asking Kaarina to learn more technology, Heedy moved more of the complexity to the family around her.

The technology moved into the background.

The family came back to the foreground.

A DIFFERENT SITUATION

The same need to stay close.

Years later, Heedy became deeply personal for Markus’s family again.

His mother-in-law, Bitte, lived with severe osteoarthritis. As her strength and mobility declined, particularly in her shoulders, using an ordinary phone became increasingly difficult. Eventually, even answering a call could become too much.

During the final weeks of her life, Heedy allowed family and friends to continue reaching her without requiring her to pick up and operate a conventional phone.

It became an important way for Bitte to remain socially connected with the people she loved during a time when being together in person wasn’t always possible.

Kaarina and Bitte faced very different circumstances. But the need was the same.

The desire to stay connected doesn’t disappear when the ability to use technology does.

HEEDY TODAY

What started with our families now helps other families stay close.

Today, the stories come from families using Heedy themselves — people facing different circumstances, but often the same challenge: ordinary technology has become a barrier to staying connected.

We hear from families who can reach a parent again without asking them to navigate a phone, grandparents who can be part of everyday family moments, and loved ones who can stay socially connected when conventional technology has become difficult.

“As Mum’s dementia progressed, ordinary technology became too complicated. Heedy gave us a simpler way to stay present in her everyday life.”

Markus

Son Sweden

“Because of Mum’s severe arthritis, using and holding her phone wasn’t easy. We wanted something that let her stay connected without having to manage the device herself.”

Cecilia

Daughter Sweden

“It’s the little things that matter — a photo from the family, seeing a familiar face, or simply being able to say hello.”

Some of these stories have been shared with us through tears. They remind us why we keep working to make Heedy simpler and better.

WHY WE KEEP BUILDING

Technology should adapt to people. Not the other way around.

Most technology is designed around everything it can do. We think it should start with what a person actually needs.

Heedy removes unnecessary complexity so people who find ordinary technology difficult can still enjoy one of its most valuable possibilities: being connected to the people they care about.

The family handles the technology. Their loved one gets the simple experience.

PEOPLE FIRST

Start with the person and what makes everyday life easier.

REMOVE COMPLEXITY

If something doesn’t need to be difficult, it shouldn’t be.

STAY CONNECTED

Technology should support relationships, not stand between them.

FOR KAARINA AND BITTE

Their stories are still part of Heedy.

Kaarina and Bitte have both since passed away. What we learned from them remains at the heart of Heedy.

Every time a family tells us that Heedy helped them reach someone they love, we’re reminded why we started — and why the work still matters.

We continue building Heedy in their memory, and for families around the world facing their own version of the same challenge.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND HEEDY

A small team with a very human reason to keep building.

Heedy was founded in Sweden by Markus and Pierre after both experienced the need for simpler technology within their own families.

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

Maybe Heedy can make a difference for someone you love, too.

If ordinary technology is making it harder for someone you love to stay connected, Heedy offers a simpler way for family to be there.
